Bhutan is a land lock country and to get there, you have to go through India. When people talk about Bhutan as a type of Shangri-la, they are not exaggerating. The country is between the Young Himalayan Mountains, that change color every hour of the day. Thimpu and Paro are situated in the valleys with lush greenery. It is difficult to know which season is. Unmarred by modernization and pollution, those valleys shelter rare flower and animal species. The only feeling you get is enchantment…
The overwhelming presence of The Himalayas, the colors of The Valley and the stillness of the day are beautiful, and can be somewhat frightening. My travel to Bhutan made me experience nature in a way that is difficult to explain. During the years of 1984 through 1987, I challenged my self to paint that beautiful country and tried to write about my experiences.
