Le Spa Infinima, located in Sainte-Foy, offers chemical peels tailored to every skin type. This medical-aesthetic treatment exfoliates the superficial layers of the epidermis using controlled acids to stimulate cellular renewal, reveal a luminous complexion, and correct skin imperfections. Our aestheticians assess your skin before each session and adjust the concentration, application time, and acid type according to your needs.
A chemical peel is an advanced exfoliation treatment that involves applying an acid solution to the facial skin to dissolve dead cells on the surface of the epidermis. This controlled desquamation triggers natural regeneration: the skin produces new cells, stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis, and recovers a smoother texture, finer grain, and visible radiance.
Unlike mechanical exfoliation, the chemical peel works through a chemical reaction. Fruit acids (AHA) such as glycolic acid and lactic acid, along with antioxidant formulations based on amino acids (AFA), penetrate the epidermis to varying depths depending on concentration and application time. This precision allows targeting specific concerns, from superficial fine lines to established pigmentation spots.
Each session begins with an analysis of your phototype, sensitivity, and skin concerns. This assessment determines the type of acid, concentration, and protocol best suited to your situation.
Each application is performed by estheticians trained in chemical exfoliation protocols. They control the application time, monitor your skin's reaction, and neutralize the solution at the precise moment to guarantee effective exfoliation without excessive irritation.
Chemical peels produce an immediate radiance by removing dead skin cells accumulated on the surface of the epidermis. The complexion appears brighter and the skin texture refined after just one session. The results are amplified with a course of consecutive treatments.
A single type of peel is not suitable for all skin types. At Spa Infinima, the choice of acid, its concentration and the application time are calibrated according to your concern: pigmentation spots, wrinkles, acne scars, dull complexion or enlarged pores.
Chemical peels at Spa Infinima take place in a dedicated medical-aesthetic treatment area, far removed from shared cabins or rushed facilities. Each session is a complete treatment in itself, in an environment conducive to relaxation.
The superficial peel uses alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or mandelic acid. These fruit acids dissolve dead cells on the epidermis surface without social downtime. For optimal results, a series of four to six sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is recommended.
The AFA peel (Amino-acid Filaggrin-based Antioxidants) uses active ingredients derived from amino acids combined with antioxidants. Gentler than traditional acid peels, it is suitable for sensitive and reactive skin. The AFA peel brightens the complexion, refines skin texture, and improves hydration without causing visible desquamation. A series of four to six sessions is recommended for optimal results.
Chemical peels address several skin concerns:
The choice of peel type and concentration depends directly on the specific concern being addressed. Our estheticians will guide you towards the appropriate protocol during your consultation.
A chemical peeling session at Spa Infinima lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
The skin is deeply cleansed to remove all traces of makeup, sebum, and impurities. Sensitive areas (around the eyes, lips) are protected.
The esthetician applies the acid solution to the face using a brush. You may feel a sensation of heat or tingling, which is normal.
The solution remains in contact with the skin for a controlled period. The esthetician then neutralizes the acid to stop the chemical reaction.
A soothing balm and sunscreen are applied to calm and protect the skin immediately after the treatment.
Stop using retinoids and chemical exfoliants five to seven days before your peel. Avoid prolonged sun exposure in the days leading up to your appointment. Inform your esthetician about any photosensitizing medications you are currently taking. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
Apply a soothing moisturizer several times a day during the desquamation period. Use broad-spectrum sun protection (SPF 50) every day, even in cloudy weather. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks. Do not scratch or manually peel the areas undergoing desquamation. Avoid saunas, hot baths, and intense exercise for 48 hours.
Post-treatment products adapted to your skin type are available at the Infinima boutique. Our aestheticians recommend hydrating serums, soothing creams, and sun protection formulated to support cellular regeneration after a chemical peel.
The chemical peel integrates into a comprehensive skincare approach. Depending on your objectives, other treatments at Le Spa Infinima reinforce the results.
Microneedling stimulates collagen production through controlled micro-perforations. Combined with a chemical peel, it amplifies cell renewal and improves skin texture from within.
IPL targets pigment spots and diffuse redness. A chemical peel prepares the skin by removing dead cells, which optimizes the penetration of the pulsed light.
Radiofrequency tightens sagging skin by heating the deep layers of the dermis. Combined with a chemical peel that works on the surface, it provides correction from the epidermis to the dermis.
Specialized facial treatments hydrate and nourish the skin between peeling sessions to prolong results and maintain radiant skin tone.
