Wrinkle Treatment in Quebec City: Forehead, Eye Area, Mouth and Neck

Wrinkles appear gradually, and rarely at the same pace from one area of the face to the next. The forehead usually marks first, the eye area shows fine lines early, and the neck loses firmness later. At Spa Infinima, each area is approached separately, with the technology that matches the depth of the wrinkle and the thickness of the skin involved. Our treatments target the appearance of wrinkles without surgery and without injections, from our two Sainte-Foy locations. Results vary from person to person, and your skin is assessed at consultation before any protocol is proposed.

Understanding Wrinkles and Skin Aging

A wrinkle isn't just a mark on the surface. It reflects a change in the skin's structure, and it's this structure that aesthetic treatments aim to target. Understanding what happens beneath the epidermis helps to place the wrinkle in context. skin concerns.

Why Skin Loses Firmness

The dermis holds two proteins that determine how skin holds its shape: collagen, which gives it density, and elastin, which lets it spring back. Their production slows with skin aging, and the skin gradually loses both elasticity and suppleness. External factors add to this: sun exposure, smoking, weight fluctuation, sleep quality.

The skin laxity that follows reads first on the most mobile areas of the face. Aesthetic treatments that target the appearance of wrinkles rest almost entirely on the same principle: stimulate the deeper layers of the skin to encourage natural collagen production.

Fine Lines, Deep Wrinkles and Expression Lines

There are three families. Fine lines stay at the surface, within the epidermis, and are often tied to dehydration or to the first loss of suppleness. Deep wrinkles settle into the dermis and remain visible at rest. Expression lines, such as frown lines between the brows or crow's feet, are etched in by repeated movement.

The distinction matters, because it determines the depth at which a treatment has to work. A surface fine line responds to work on skin texture. A deep wrinkle calls for a treatment designed to reach the deeper layers of the skin. That reading is what guides the choice of technology at consultation.

Targeting Wrinkles Without Surgery or Injections

At Spa Infinima, wrinkles are approached without an operating room and without injections. Our aestheticians work with five professional technologies, each suited to a wrinkle depth and to an area of the face.

  • Radiofrequency delivers controlled heat into the dermis to stimulate collagen.
  • Microneedling creates micro-perforations that trigger cell regeneration.
  • HIFU concentrates ultrasound waves into the deeper layers of the skin.
  • Intense pulsed light acts on the uniformity of the complexion.
  • Chemical peeling accelerates cell renewal on the surface.

This positioning carries a direct consequence: we do not offer laser resurfacing or fillers. If your concern goes beyond a single wrinkle and affects the whole face, our facial rejuvenation section compares the five technologies against each other. The detail on each device sits on our aesthetic technologies page.

Let's Discuss Your Skin at Consultation

An in-cabin assessment helps determine which of the five technologies is right for your skin.

Nothing is decided based on a photo or a description.

Upper Face Wrinkles: Forehead and Eye Area

The upper face moves constantly. The muscles of the forehead and around the eyes contract thousands of times a day, and the skin there is among the thinnest on the body. These two areas are worked differently.

Forehead Lines and Frown Lines

Frown lines, the vertical mark between the brows, are expression lines. They deepen with repeated muscle contraction, then eventually stay visible at rest. Horizontal forehead lines follow the same logic.

Without injections, the approach is to work the density of the skin around the wrinkle rather than the muscle itself. HIFU reaches the deeper layers of the forehead, while radiofrequency acts within the dermis through controlled heat. Both aim at collagen production. The effect on the appearance of frown lines varies with their starting depth, and the number of sessions is determined at consultation.

Fine Lines Around the Eyes and on the Eyelids

The skin around the eyes is among the thinnest on the face, which is why fine lines and crow's feet show up there early. Eyelids also lose suppleness over time.

Microneedling is frequently chosen here, precisely because its calibre adjusts. On an eyelid, the needle depth drops far below what it would be on a cheek, and that modulation is what makes the area workable at all. A deep-acting device has no business there. A warm or prickling sensation is typically described during the session, and contraindications are reviewed before every treatment.

Lower Face, Lip and Neck Wrinkles

The lower face and the neck mark later, but often more sharply, because skin laxity compounds the wrinkles themselves.

Wrinkles Around the Mouth and Lips

Wrinkles around the mouth, including nasolabial folds and the fine vertical lip lines, combine two phenomena: loss of firmness and a change in skin texture at the surface.

Chemical peel works on that second front by accelerating cell turnover in the epidermis. Microneedling completes the picture by working deeper. Both can sit within a staged protocol, alone or alternating with an in-cabin facial. Results vary from person to person, and session pacing is set at consultation.

Neck Wrinkles and Jawline Firmness

The neck is often forgotten in skincare routines, even though its skin is thin and poorly protected. Neck wrinkles, a softening jawline and marks on the décolletage all come down to the same mechanics: a loss of firmness in the deeper layers of the skin.

HIFU targets precisely this scenario: a wrinkle that is not a fold, but the result of skin that is slackening. Radiofrequency works within the dermis and completes the action. These two technologies are frequently combined on the neck and jawline, with a protocol built around the condition of the skin observed at consultation.

Have Your Priority Areas Assessed

Forehead, eye contour, mouth or neck: the area to prioritize is determined with your beautician, depending on the condition of your skin.

Before Your Session: Contraindications and What Happens

Every session opens with an assessment of the skin. Contraindications are reviewed at consultation: pregnancy, certain skin conditions, use of photosensitising medication, metal implants depending on the technology chosen.

The sequence follows a constant pattern:

  1. Skin assessment and validation of contraindications.
  2. Skin cleansing and preparation.
  3. Session using the chosen technology.
  4. Application of soothing products and care advice.

A sensation of heat or tingling is commonly described during the session. Recovery time varies depending on the technology and intensity of the protocol. The number of sessions is determined during a consultation, as is the frequency of maintenance sessions.

A cosmetic treatment does not replace medical advice: a skin lesion that changes in appearance should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wrinkle Treatment

The depth of the wrinkle and the area affected determine the technology used. Here are the five treatments offered at Spa Infinima.

HIFU

For wrinkles that accompany sagging rather than a pronounced crease: those along the jawline and neck. HIFU works beneath the dermis, where the skin relaxes, and not precisely where the wrinkle is deep. It has no useful effect on fine lines, regardless of the intensity setting.

Radiofrequency

For forehead wrinkles and expression lines already established in the dermis. The device works on the skin density around the wrinkle rather than the wrinkle itself, which explains why the effect builds up from one session to the next rather than in a single treatment.

Microneedling

For fine lines, where the skin is too thin for a deep device: around the eyes, eyelids, and lips. The needle gauge adjusts to the thickness of the area. A combined version with radiofrequency is available for more established wrinkles.

Photofacial (IPL or Laser — What Is the Difference? )

The only one of the five that doesn't target wrinkles. It's included here because an area marked by wrinkles is often also affected by uneven skin tone, particularly on the décolleté. Consider it as a complementary product if... the appearance of brown spots It accompanies your wrinkles.

Chemical peeling

For fine vertical lines around the lips and wrinkles that lie deep within the epidermis. This peel works precisely where a deeper device is ineffective. The concentration is adjusted to the skin type, assessed during a consultation.

The number of sessions is determined during a consultation. It depends on the technology chosen, the depth of the wrinkles, and your skin's response. A treatment plan includes an initial phase followed by maintenance sessions, the frequency of which is established with your esthetician.

A superficial wrinkle remains in the epidermis, while a deep wrinkle is embedded in the dermis and remains visible even at rest. This difference guides the choice of treatment: fine lines respond to surface treatments, while deep wrinkles require technology that reaches the deeper layers of the skin.

There's no universal timeframe, as collagen production slows down at a rate unique to each individual's skin. The relevant indicator is the skin's condition, not a calendar: loss of firmness, fine lines that persist even at rest, changes in texture. A consultation will help determine this.
